The Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) has 5 commissioners who are appointed by the City Council for a five-year term.  View the roster in the right-hand column.

Overview

The  HRA is a separate legal entity governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota.  The HRA is generally considered the housing and redevelopment arm of a City and has similar powers as a local government.

Programs

The HRA has several programs available for Anoka residents including home improvement loans and rebates for home owners, rehab programs for rental property owners and a down payment assistance program for people interested in purchasing a home in the City of Anoka.

In addition, the HRA has created a Scattered Site Replacement Program to purchase dilapidated homes, demolish them and sell the lots for the construction of a new single family home.

The HRA has also created a Fire Suppression Program to provide sprinkler systems to property owners in our historic downtown and a revolving loan program for commercial businesses to make exterior repairs and upgrades.
