Payments can be made 24 hours a day online or by phone, please see each payment section for more details including posting dates.  

PLEASE NOTE: Do not pay as usual if your account(s) are subject to disconnection, or are currently disconnected. In order for power to be restored you must follow the steps in the "Restoring Power from Disconnection/Non-payment" section below.

Online Payments

AMU has a full service account portal powered by Invoice Cloud. This free service is available 24 hours a day and allows customers to view bills, pay bills, schedule payment reminders, and much more, all without service fees.

Utility Bills Online

  • Pay both residential and commercial utility bills.
  • Free service, no fees for online payments!
  • For extended features, register for a new account, then pay your bill online.
  • Payments can be made 24 hours a day, however payments will be credited to the utility account  depending on the time of day that a payment is made. 
    • Payments made before 6 pm CT will be  pending one (1) business day. and therefore credited to the account the next business day.
    • Payments received afterpm. CT will remain pending for two (2) business days.  (For example, a payment made at 7:30 pm on Monday will not reflect on the utility account until Wednesday morning.)
  • Credit card and debit card payments from VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express, Google Pay, Apple Pay, and Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) via checking and savings accounts are all accepted forms of payment.

  • PLEASE NOTE: Customers subject to disconnection, or are currently disconnected must follow the steps in the "Restoring Power from Disconnection/Non-payment" section below in order for power to be restored.

Phone Payments

You have the ability to make your payment through our automated phone system 24 hours a day, or you can call the AMU billing representatives during business hours.

24-Hour Automated Phone System

  • Call 1-855-939-1434, or 763-576-2750  and dial option Number 1 when prompted, open 24 hours a day.
  • PLEASE NOTE: Customers subject to disconnection, or are currently disconnected must follow the steps in the "Restoring Power from Disconnection/Non-payment" section below in order for power to be restored.

Call Billing Reps during business hours 8 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.

Restoring Power from Disconnection/Non-payment

For customer's account(s) that are subject to disconnection, or are currently disconnected. In order for power to be restored you must do one of the following:

  1.  During Business Hours  (8:00 am to 4:30 pm)

    1. Customers must contact Anoka Municipal Utility (AMU) at 763-576-2750 option #3 to be reconnected, or visit Anoka City Hall to pay  in person
    2. After 3:30 pm, additional fees apply for same day re-connection.
    3. See AMU's Disconnection Policy for more payment information.
  2.  After 4:30 pm 

    1. See AMU's Disconnection Policy for required payment information.
    2. Online payments for re-connection are accepted online until 7:00 pm.  Please note that services are not automatically restored after hours using this online payment center.
    3. After making full required payment, customers must call our Call Center in order to dispatch a lineman to restore power. Call 763-576-2903, option #0  to have power restored from disconnection. Have payment information readily available for reference.
