West Main Street
Reduced to one-way for utility relocation work in August
This August, West Main Street from Cutters Grove Avenue to Fairoak Avenue will be reduced to
one-way, eastbound traffic only. The one-way on West Main Street is expected to occur for approximately three weeks. Advanced signage will be placed at least five days prior to the closure occurring. The map below identifies the road closure that will require advanced planning for access.
This small utility work along the Highway 10 corridor is in preparation for the Highway 10/169 Improvement Project, with major construction activities scheduled to begin in 2022. The upcoming relocations occur near Highway 10 between West Main Street and Thurston Avenue in Anoka and impact the local roadways on each side of the highway in this area. The primary focus of this work includes the relocation of existing utilities in preparation for the Highway 10/169 Improvement Project.
The work includes:
- Shoulder closures on westbound Hwy 10
- Narrow lanes along Thurston Avenue, Fairoak Avenue, Cutters Grove Avenue, Main Street Service Road, Church Street, Greenhaven Parkway, Jacob Lane
- Short-term turn lane closures and flagging on various roadways
- Tech Drive reduced to one-lane with on-site traffic control
The work for the utility relocation is expected to take place over the coming two months.
