City employees have been instructed to wear face coverings when dealing with the public and coworkers.  Workers must also wear face coverings outdoors when it is not possible to maintain social distancing. Masks are provided for visitors if they don't have one.

The public is required to wear a  face covering inside public buildings. It is strongly encouraged to have a face covering with you at all times to be prepared to comply with the requirements of this Executive Order.

March 17, 2020: To help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to protect residents, customers, and city employees, the Anoka City Council declared a local state of emergency  effective through April 6.  At their April 6, 2020 meeting, the Anoka City Council extended the local state of emergency for an indeterminate time.

Update on May 18, 2020: City buildings had been closed for several weeks, but following Governor Walz’ "Stay Safe Minnesota" Executive Order, Anoka City offices
re-opened to the public on May 18, 2020, with safety measures in place.
